Welcome to the CPS Response to Intervention Webpage!

Response to intervention (RTI) is a three-tiered approach to providing services to struggling learners and/or students with challenging behaviors.  The goal of RTI is to provide services to children when they are needed in hopes of preventing most students from needed special education services.

The core principles of RTI include:

  1. Universal Screening
  2. Early Intervention
  3. Research-Based Intervention
  4. Frequent Review of Student Progress
  5. Data-Based Decision Making

The newest progress monitoring tool that will be utilized by the district is AIMSweb.  Click below for a demo.
